Hi, I am Angela Stearman.  This is my fourth year at Walsh Middle School, and I am very excited see some familiar faces. It will also be fun to meet all of the new Walsh students, parents and faculty members!

 

It is my goal to share my wealth of experience in journalism, technology and business with each and every student in my class.  

 

Teaching is actually my second career, and it is something I've always wanted to do.  So, every year of teaching is a dream-come-true.  No matter how long I teach, I want to remember the excitement that I felt during my first days in class.

 

My fist career was in high-tech.  I have worked for Intel, Marvel Semiconductor and AMD.  I also did a short stint with Harcourt publishing prior to their takeover by Houghton Mifflin.  During my career, I was responsible for managing multi-million dollar financials, pricing, contracts, projects and acquisitions.  I managed a staff of 3-5 highly intelligent, motivated individuals.  

While I am proud of all of my accomplishments, I am most proud of the training and mentoring I provided to other professionals.  I believe strongly in mentorship and view my role as teacher to be that of a mentor.  

 

On a personal note...

I am married to Greg.  My sons are Jared and Ryan.  I have a cat, Charley and four dogs, Jack, Sam, Mal and Obi.  My favorite movie is Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back.  I love to read, so I have too many favorite books to list here.  And, my fondest wish is to always be grateful for what I have and to not worry about what I don't have.
